Currently the water system for our Area 44 widows consists of a hole in the ground. The widows lower their own containers on a string to bring up dirty, unhealthy water. A U.S. missionary engineer has devised a cost effective and proven filtration system which – either by solar power or by a gravitational system – will filtrate the water to provide clean, safe water to drink. We would like to install this system in 2010 at a cost of $500.
Ruth’s Shawl is being led to develop a location for the widows to meet and study, to receive business training. We are on the lookout for a piece of land on which we can build a Ruth’s Shawl Pavilion – For in the day of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion. In the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me. He shall set me up on a rock. Psalm 27:5 (KJV) We are in prayer for this to happen in 2010.
The widows may be able to establish some businesses in 2010 with the opportunity that small micro-loans could be made to the widows with the expectation that they would be paid back, with interest. More details in 2010.
Currently the widows sit on the floor or on the ground to receive their lessons. Chairs, desks, and tables are needed for school work to be prepared and completed. Once again, local skilled labor will be used to produce these items and to benefit the local community. We hope to escalate this opportunity in 2010.
